On 2 September 2017, a Welcoming Gathering was held for the new cohort of mainland Fung Scholars who come to exchange at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in Fall semester 2017. The event was attended by 49 Fung Scholars from Fudan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Hong Kong Baptist University, Nanjing University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Sun Yat-sen University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Tsinghua University, Xiamen University and Zhejiang University. The event was kicked off with a warm welcoming speech by Mr. KM WONG, Director of the Victor and William Fung Foundation. Mr. Wong also introduced the Victor and William Fung Foundation to the new Fung Scholars. After the introduction by Mr. WONG, three senior Fung Scholars, HUANG Jingqing (FS2007-08, Sun Yat-sen University), LI Tianyu (FS2012-13, Peking University) and CHEN Pin (FS2013-14, Xiamen University) were invited to share their study, exchange and working experiences with the participants. An ice-breaking game was played at the end of the gathering. It was a truly delightful and inspiring morning for all the participants.

 

We wish the new batch of Fung Scholars a fruitful and rewarding exchange experience in Hong Kong.
