About Fung Scholars

The Fung Scholars Programme aims to nurture future world leaders by supporting university students to experience different cultures and environments early in their careers. We are an international network of graduates from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore, USA, UK, Japan, Bangladesh and Turkey.

Fung Scholars Programme

The Fung Scholars Programme was established in 2006 to commemorate the centenary of the Fung Group by the Victor and William Fung Foundation. Recipients of the Fung Scholarships are known as Fung Scholars (or Fung Fellows for the post-graduates) and are chosen on the basis of their academic excellence and leadership potential.

As of March 2023, the Fung Scholars Programme is established in 33 universities worldwide with more than 6,900 Fung Scholars and Fung Fellows. Each year, the Foundation organizes a Leadership Conference as well as other activities to bring the Fung Scholars and Fung Fellows together.

The Victor and William Fung Foundation aims to promote leadership development, through scholarships, fellowships and educational programmes in partnership with universities, and thought leadership, through research and innovation, with think-tanks and tertiary education institutions. The Foundation was established in 2006 to commemorate the centenary of the Fung Group by Dr. Victor Fung, Group Chairman, and Dr. William Fung, Group Deputy Chairman with their personal funds.
